Story Evolution:

From 'Lost In Tomorrow'

to 'The Montague Odyssey'

Lost In Tomorrow, Book One: Orion and Luna Travel Time

The journey began in mid-2023 with a vision to create a captivating story for young readers aged 5 and up. My goal was to craft an intricate narrative while also delivering a cinematic visual experience. Thanks to Midjourney, this dream seemed within reach. I decided to blend the formats of a graphic novel and a picture book, but the process was far more challenging than I anticipated.

The allure of AI-generated art and language models like ChatGPT was irresistible. I aimed for a realistic, cinematic look to immerse readers in a vibrant world beyond traditional art. However, working with Midjourney was arduous. Creating a single double-page spread could take weeks. Character consistency, the holy grail of AI art, was elusive, and randomization remained a persistent issue.

Choosing the title "Lost In Tomorrow" felt perfect, as the protagonists, Luna and Orion, were lost in the future world of 2150. After months of consideration and web searches, I found no conflicts. But as I prepared to launch a Kickstarter in 2024, I discovered a new US film with the same title. Concerned of legal repercussions, I reluctantly decided to rename my project. This turned out to be most fortuitous, as the new title is more exciting, positive, and aligned with the bigger trilogy story.

Lost In Tomorrow Reviews

"Often times  it’s easy to feel overwhelmed by future doomsday scenarios such as ‘The Terminator’ and ‘Blade Runner’, but what if that’s not our future?

What there is a positive future, where robots and people work together in harmony, to create a better and safer world for generations to come?

The Lost In Tomorrow book tells a captivating story of two young children who are transported into the future, finding themselves in a world where humans, robots and nature are united and harmonious.

The picture book is designed to be fast paced, with smaller chapters that are packed with action. This allows younger audiences to engage and retain their attention, teaching them valuable lessons of courage and creativity whilst making them optimistic about the times to come.

There is no doubt that Lost in Tomorrow book is an incredible story that the sci-fi genre has been longing for, and I highly recommend it to all."

"My children and I love reading the Lost in Tomorrow book. In a world full of fear and polarising views, I am so inspired by the optimistic and heart centred perspectives through which the author has created his vision  of the future. My children are full of questions about this future world of Lumos City presented here and we eagerly look forward to reading subsequent additions to the series."

From Lost in Tomorrow to The Montague Odyssey: Book 1

Every great journey begins with a first step, and Lost in Tomorrow was just that—an experimental leap into storytelling, a foundation-builder, a proving ground. It was the spark, the early prototype. But The Montague Odyssey is the race bike, its tyres warmed up, the engine primed, ready to take off at full speed.

Unlike traditional book releases, this project is not about static perfection or author recognition—it is about evolution. Much like the protopian future I envision, this trilogy is designed to grow, refine, and expand with time, shaped by both the natural evolution of the story and the invaluable input of its readers. This is not a ‘one-and-done’ book series. It is a living, breathing journey—one that will see multiple editions, reader insights woven into its DNA, and continuous refinements leading up to its final form.

With this new direction, the books are now aimed at readers aged 8-12+, featuring deeper narratives, more advanced concepts, and a shift toward a text-heavy format. While visuals remain an important storytelling element, they will be interspersed throughout the pages rather than dominating them—occasional full-page illustrations, and perhaps a striking double-page spread at key moments.

The overarching story has also evolved, growing in depth and connection between books. Each installment now interlocks with a stronger underlying thread, ensuring the trilogy unfolds as a truly epic adventure.

So stay tuned—this is only the beginning. Exciting developments are on the horizon, and you are invited to be part of this journey. Let’s build this world together.
