Foreword for Parents and Teachers

We live in a time of upheaval and uncertainty. As AI, robotics, automation, the climate crisis, and increasing global tensions reshape our world, many adults are asking difficult questions:
What should our children study? What work will even exist for them? Will they ever afford a home? Are we heading toward climate collapse and... dystopia?

My answer is simple: No, we are not headed for dystopia.

But yes, there will be turbulence. The world has begun to Earth shattering birthing-pains as we transition toward entirely new societal and economic systems. However I believe, with absolute conviction, that technology can, and will, be directed wisely, and that all of us; every human being, and indeed every living creature on this Earth, can benefit from what is coming. No one left behind.

How do we get there?

Many great minds have already laid stepping stones toward a brighter world: the ancient Greeks with their love of inquiry; Buddhist and Taoist philosophers with their emphasis on compassion and balance; visionaries like Walt Disney, Gene Roddenberry (Star Trek) and Jacque Fresco, who dared to imagine futures filled with hope; and now the new generation of abundance-minded thinkers, optimists, futurists, and not-for-profit builders like Emad Mostaque, Alvin Graylin, Mo Gawdat, Cleo Abram, and Peter Diamandis, and many, many more.

Our children need more than dire warnings about the future; they deserve a bright and compelling vision of what the future could be, something to build towards not flee from. Adults and young readers alike need a road map, a sense of direction, that will fill them with a purpose that feels both self-fulfilling and contributive to the world at large.
And, collectively we need less fear, and more love, more logic, more liberty.

And we must move forward —together.

The Montague Odyssey trilogy was written with this in mind: a story to spark imagination, inspire courage, and gently guide readers toward the world so many of the global human family are collectively building.
It is my invitation to you, and to every young mind, to step into an unfolding journey that humanity is already embarking on.

Thank you for walking a little of the road with us.
